Arthur Fernandez is a sophomore and a member of the high school computer programming club. Some of his favorite hobbies are reading, studying, coding, doing research, and drawing. In the future, he would like to become a quantum scientist or a programmer.
Fernandez said his mom is his biggest inspiration.
“She always does what is right and always manages to get what she needs done,” he said.
His favorite quote is, “Life is strong and fragile. It’s a paradox…it’s both things, like quantum physics. It’s a particle and a wave at the same time. It all exists all together.” (Joan Jett)
Fernandez said he is motivated by his family, and he loves cats and other animals. His favorite classes this year are English 2 and U.S. History.
“In both classes, there are funny students and my teachers are enjoyable to be around,” he said. “I just feel welcomed when I’m there.”
Some of Fernandez’s biggest accomplishments over the years are A and A/B Honor Roll, English 1 Stellar Student, competing in UIL, and having perfect attendance. He said he is very thankful for the opportunity to be Bear of the Week.
According to English 2 teacher Lindsey Fruge, Fernandez is the ideal student and always has a smile on his face.
“Arthur is hard working and always gives everything he does 110%,” Fruge said. “He is hands down one of the sweetest students I have this year and always shows kindness to everyone around him. Arthur always has something nice to say to his peers and teachers, and he can make anyone’s bad day better. He tells me to have a good day every time he leaves my classroom, and he truly means it. Arthur is just one-of-a-kind, and anyone who knows him will be better for it.”
