Bear of the Week: Luke Scott
February 5, 2023
Freshman Luke Scott participates in many extracurricular activities, both on and off campus. He recently joined the tennis team and also works hard at being a member of the school baseball team. He enjoys baseball both inside of school and out, having played for many years. Although sports are his favorite hobby, he also spends a lot of his time with his church’s youth group.
One of his greatest achievements is when his select baseball team won the world series in Destin, Florida.
Scott’s motivators have always been his coaches and teammates, head coach Hunter Hagler being his biggest inspiration of them all.
“He pushes us to do our best and holds us accountable,” Scott said.
According to Scott, Introduction to Engineering has become his favorite class this year because of the projects they work on together. The projects help him prepare for wanting to complete his goal of going to college. In college, he wants to major in Kinesiology.
“Luke is a one-of-a-kind person who knows how to bring a smile to anyone’s face,” English teacher Amy Robbins said. “He has a strong sense of compassion and understands the value of another’s feelings and their perspective. His integrity is laudable.”
