Bear of the Week: Jan Nazario
October 30, 2022
Senior Jan Nazario is involved in multiple sports on campus. He spends his time as part of the Battlin’ Bear Football team, as well as powerlifting. He also throws the discus in track. In his free time, he enjoys welding and working on cars.
In the future, Nazario would like to continue welding or to become a professional football player. He is motivated to move toward his goals because he wants to set a good example for the younger generation.
Seeing the accomplishments and growth of his parents inspires him to work hard and reach his goals. Nazario also has major accomplishments of his own, including being nominated for an All-American football game taking place in December of this year.
Nazario lives by the quote, “If you can’t do anything about it, then don’t. Focus on something you can do.”
According to coach Frank Snoddy, Nazario is a great young man and one of the hardest workers he has ever had the pleasure of coaching.
“He’s a leader on the field, in the field house, and in the classroom,” Snoddy said. “He’s the one you can rely on to make sure the team is doing right not only in football, but also during powerlifting season.”
