Academic UIL places second at Longhorn Invitational

Sophomores Gabrielle Moore and Rayna Christy helped the Journalism team place 1st overall.

The Academic UIL teams competed at the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorn Invitational UIL meet over the weekend and finished in 2nd place overall. The Computer Science team placed 1st and the Journalism team also placed 1st.

The results were:

Computer Science: 2nd – Alex Poole, 3rd – Layden Webb, 4th – Emily Oldbury, 5th – Raymond Arrington

Editorial Writing: 2nd – Gabrielle Moore

News Writing: 2nd – Gabrielle Moore

Number Sense: 5th – Alex Poole

Feature Writing: 1st – Rayna Christy, 3rd – Gabrielle Moore

Current Issues: 4th – Lauren Keely

Poetry: 5th – Jaiden Trussell

Headline Writing: 2nd – Rayna Christy, 4th – Gabrielle Moore

The teams will compete at the Bulldog Invitational in Nederland on Jan. 22.
