Education Foundation to host 5K Color Run

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc., is gearing up for its second annual Legacy 5K Color Run/Walk,” on May 2, 2020. Legacy sponsors for the Run and all other Foundation events during the year include Golden Triangle Emergency Center and First State Bank of Texas.

This is a fun, family event to raise money to support grants provided by the Foundation for its “Grants to Educators” program that enhances and enriches the educational opportunities offered to students throughout the LCM District.

It is called the Legacy 5K because it will start and finish in Legacy Park, the wooded area surrounding the big bear next to the LCM Administration Office, 6586 FM 1130, in Orange. LCM schools will again compete for a traveling trophy that goes to the campus who has the largest percentage of  participants, whether they are staff, students, parents or community members.

Those interested can register online at runsignup.com, or pick up an application at any of the LCM campuses or the Administration Building or download it from the LCM website, www.lcmcisd.org under the “Community” tab.

Registration for adults is $30; under 12, $20 up to two per family, then each additional child, under 12, is $10 each. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Logo t-shirts will be provided for those who register by April 14, 2020.

Engraved bricks, which pave the walkways of Legacy Park, will be available for purchase. The 4×8 brick is $35 and the 8×8 paver is $70. This is a way to honor or remember friends or family.

Sponsorships are still available, and those forms can also be viewed on the LCM Education Foundation Facebook page or LCM website.
