April 12, 2019
Toni Warnell was recently named the 2018-2019 LCM High School Paraprofessional of the Year after being chosen for this by her colleagues.
After receiving her degree from Lamar State College in Orange, Warnell came to LCM and has worked here for nine years. She is currently in charge of ISS and said she plans on working here at least another ten years.
“Since I had not won this award before, I was shocked to have gotten it,” Warnell said. “To win it, all it took was being myself and doing my job how I always naturally do it.”
Warnell said her goal as an educator is to help students succeed in class and life, while having the challenge of trying to keep students going and on track.
“My favorite memories from this job are when I see kids who have a rough time in school and when they return they have made something of themselves,” Warnell said. “Although it’s a challenge, it is very fulfilling.”
