Cheynne Pucheta, Writer

Gracie Simmons is a junior with a passion for art, reading, and riding horses. This school year, she aspires to get good grades in all her classes, to get better at riding horses, and to finish an art series she started last year.

She has traveled to Spain, France, Mexico, and Canada, and said she is planning on returning to Europe and Canada one day. Simmons is the youngest out of all of her siblings. She has two older brothers, Robbie and Dustin, and a sister, Harlee, who is an LCM senior.

Simmons said her school days are typically pretty calm, except when she has a test in Mrs. Davis’ class. Her proudest academic moment from high school was when Mrs. Dunn praised her for making a 100 on a retest after she had failed the first one by 50 points.

According to Simmons, the best part of her day is seeing her friends and going to Mrs. Dunn’s class. Throughout her high school career, she said she has learned that doing your work now, rather than later, is better and that your life does not end here.

After high school, Simmons plans on going to college, passing the vet tech exam, and working at a zoo.
