"A Sister's Balance" by Aylee Coleman
Three art students’ artwork is currently being exhibited at the Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Senior Aylee Coleman received Best of Show for her painting titled “A Sister’s Balance.” Sophomore Kaylee Prouse received a gold medal for her painting titled “The Great Frontier,” and sophomore Sarah Park received a gold medal for her painting titled “Emmy.”
According to art teacher Kaitlyn Sweeney, she is incredibly proud of these three students for placing in the rodeo art competition.
“All three worked very hard to complete their paintings and gathered all information needed for submission,” Sweeney said. “The rodeo can be stressful because it is a contest with more restrictions and paperwork, but they handled it well. All are very talented and wowed me with their paintings. Each artwork had their own style and seemed personal to them. You can tell they enjoyed painting their subjects.”
The students’ artwork will be on display in the Hayloft gallery at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo through March 23.
