Track Teams Finish Strong at LCM Meet

The Bear Track team finished in third place at the LCM meet held yesterday. Juniors JD Head and Austin White tied for second in the Pole Vault with a jump of 12′. Juniors Marvis Brown, Ethan Reed and Taylor Hulsey led the way in the Shot Put, taking the first three spots respectively. Reed and Brown went on to finish strong in the Discus, finishing first and second with throws of 148’7″ and 136’2.5″. Senior Dalton Doyle took first place in the Long Jump with a jump of 20’11.75 and senior Jace Bagwell finished in sixth place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:07:00. Junior Dylan Gruber came in first place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15:28. Doyle placed sixth in the 100-meter dash, finishing the race with a time of 11:14. Bagwell came in fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:03:79.

The Lady Bears finished in eighth place at the meet, with Nederland and WOS taking first and second. Senior Emalee Carlton finished in sixth place in the Discus and junior Malayzia Winbush came in second place in the High Jump. Junior Bailey Williams came in second place in the Triple Jump and Junior Alexis Sezer came in fifth place in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Robyn Steen came in fourth place in the 400-meter dash and sophomore Brooke Manuel finished strong in second place in the 1600-meter run.

Both teams will compete next Thursday, March 27 at Lumberton.
