The Lady Bears beat Liberty in five sets Tuesday night.

The Lady Bear Volleyball team defeated Liberty in five sets (25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 15-25, 15-13) last night and claimed the Bi-District championship, causing them to move on to the next round of playoffs.

The match against the Lady Panthers was a tough one, with LCM winning the first set but Liberty winning the next. It finally came down to a score of 2-2 going into the fifth set.

“Playing five sets is never fun, especially when it’s a tough team,” senior Shannel Anderson said. “It was very intense, but we never gave up and kept fighting until the end.”

According to junior setter Hallie Maddox, the match was nerve-wracking but the team has each other’s backs and with that kind of mentality, they were able to pull out a win.

“It felt amazing,” Maddox said of defeating Liberty. “I’m so proud of my team.”

Anderson said she looks forward to going further in the playoffs with her team.

“We have overcome so many obstacles this season,” she said. “We are still strong and working hard and I couldn’t ask for a better team.”
