Cross country finishes strong at Cardinal Classic

Sophomore Keiffer Reed led the boys cross country team in the Cardinal Classic.

The boys and girls cross country teams ran in the Cardinal Classic at Claiborne Park on Thursday, Oct. 22 and finished strong in both races. In the girls 2-mile race, sophomore Annabelle Fisher brought home another first place medal with a time of 12:26.27. Senior Robyn Coumier finished in 11th place with a time of 15:10.64 and freshman Jenna Hallman placed 18th with a time of 15:28.34.

Other girl finishers include: DeAsia Tippins (23rd with a time of 16:23.50), Miranda Keltz (33rd with a time of 17:22.37), and Danika Williamson (34th with a time of 17:38.15). The girls team placed second overall.

Leading the boys team in the 3-mile race was sophomore Kieffer Reed, who placed 16th with a time of 20:17.23. Other boy finishers include: Jacob Longlois (25th with a time of 21:25.57), Ryan Foreman (27th with a time of 21:26.43), Marshall Braus (32nd with a time of 21:54.50), Austin Robinson (41st with a time of 23:18.75), Jonathan Butler (23:24.01), Jason Perez (52nd with a time of 25:51.85), and Jeremiah Alvarez (61st with a time of 32:02.61). The boys team finished 5th overall.

Both teams will compete at the district meet next Thursday, Oct. 29 at Claiborne Park.
